🌟It is the embryo’s nest
🌟It is the baby’s shelter
🌟It is where the embryo is protected, kept warm, and fed
🌟It is also a powerful muscle, able to expel the foetus once it is ready through labour.
The uterus is located in the pelvic cavity, stabilised by a well balanced suspension, support and orientation system. Its shaped like an avocado, nestled in the funnel shape space surrounded by the pelvic bones. Ligaments, muscles tissues and other surrounded organs act as a 360 degree suspension system. A well balanced suspension system helps keeping the uterus stabilised in the centre position during our daily activities.
In order to keep the uterus stabilised, all suspensions, support and orientation systems are required to participate. While graded pelvic floor exercises can help improve the strength (providing muscular support within the pelvic cavity), any unprocessed emotions/trauma, any restriction and/or changes of tension from any directions from the attached ligaments and/or surrounding organs can cause imbalance of the suspension systems.
A great example is, sometimes backaches can appear during the menstrual cycle. This can be due to changes of the uterus lining increasing tension along the ligaments attached to the sacral area or increased compressive forces on the nerves. You may find applying a warm pack on your lower abdomen area can ease the backache.
Visceral bodywork can also help to reducing the restrictions, making it more mobile, more flexible, and less congested.

🥑 Avocados are shaped like the uterus. It contains many nutrients which are beneficial for reproductive health. Studies found that women who eat avocados regularly in their diet when pregnant can balance the birth hormones, shed unwanted birth weight and even help to prevent cervical cancer. Folate, found in avocados, has been shown to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
🥑 Just as it takes an avocado exactly 9 months to grow from a blossom into a ripened avocado, it takes exactly 9 months for a baby to fully develop in the uterus.
A well-positioned uterus sets a great foundation for optimal fertility, balanced hormones and having an aligned body, mind & spirit. 🧘🏻
